Why MassIMC?

I.

The recent COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated that integrative medicine can be more effective than Western or Eastern medicine alone.

II.

Although Massachusetts is home to some of the world's most prestigious Western medical institutions, they still face limitations in providing optimal healthcare to their residents. This is where the integration of acupuncture and herbal medicine can play a crucial role.

III.

We will actively showcase the outstanding achievements in Eastern medicine and promote the development of integrative medicine in collaboration with like-minded Western doctors and researchers.

IV.

Dr. Choi has been a leading figure in the globalization of traditional medicine for decades. His remarkable achievements at the WHO include integrating traditional medicine into ICD-11 and the standardization of acupuncture point locations. The globalization of traditional medicine is now set to be further realized through integrative medicine.

V.

In memory of the late Professor David Yue-Wei Lee, who inspired Dr. Choi to practice integrative medicine by highlighting its need and value, we will continue to carry forward his legacy.
